Torture to Love Unloved - a Poem
59Torture to love unloved,
To wander about the middling obscure
Fictionalizing possibilities
While feeding on mediocre memories.
Life is beyond the vaulted ceiling
Throughout the vaulted skies
Where stars aren’t merely make-believe
But really dimples of the moon.
Love cannot be planned
It can’t be predictable
It can’t be pretend
I hope
For days yet to dawn
That have no sunset
And smile for irrepressible joy.

The reason I've put this collection together is partly because of myself. I thought it would make things easy if I had all my poetry cataloged in one place. If I get organized, maybe none of my poems will get...

Beloved Anne Elliot of "Persuasion" to Captain Harville, friend of Captain Wentworth:
"We certainly do not forget you so soon as you forget us. It is, perhaps, our fate rather than our merit. We cannot help ourselves. We live at home, quiet, confined, and our feelings prey upon us. You are forced on exertion. You have always a profession, pursuits, business of some sort or other, to take you back into the world immediately, and continual occupation and change soon weaken impressions."
A truer word was spoken by the Heavenly Husband: "I will never leave you, nor forsake you."
