Rejection, a poem
66
You didn’t care
When it seemed to matter the most
That you should
Maybe I’m going crazy
Or you’re just not at all
Rejection is mine and
Vengeance is the Lord’s
And I just sit here to take it all in
I need your smile maybe
To cover up that wound of
Unbreathed bitterness
All I need is
To be someone else’s
Someone and only
Only if I’m still
Breathing by tomorrow
The sea rolls and the sea scrolls
It never ever stops
But I did at the edge
At the brink of the universe
Breathing my last breath
By the sea under a moon and two stars
They feel so far away now
Or maybe I’m the faraway one
Without a mailbox

The reason I've put this collection together is partly because of myself. I thought it would make things easy if I had all my poetry cataloged in one place. If I get organized, maybe none of my poems will get...

You're the only Rose West that I know! I really enjoyed this poem, especially its artistic lyricism. Sad yet beautiful. Thank you.
Rose I like this especially the last stanza that begins ... the sea rolls and the sea scrolls. Do n't give up writing- this has a quality to it that I like.
Very well written : )
I really liked this poem and the photograph of the lifeless tree
I liked that imagery at the end.
...sad but truly a heart pinching poem... :)

Beautiful poems and awesome thoughts. Sometimes philosophic....
I forgot to say I like the title of your poem.
Enjoyed your poem very much - the rhythm, subject... I found it very interesting that each "paragraph" is a complete thought and micro-poem in and of itself. Will be reading more Rose West.
